An accounting education at Utica College doesn’t just come from textbooks. The Accounting major is integrated with other business disciplines – such as marketing, management, and finance helping graduates meet the challenges of a constantly changing business world.

What You’ll Learn
The accounting major offers two concentrations. In the public accounting program, get started on the path to certification as a public accountant in New York state. Completion of this program and Utica College’s MBA in Professional Accountancy fulfills New York State’s 150-hour requirement, making you eligible to take the uniform CPA exam.

Choose private accounting and develop the skills to plan budgets, analyze costs, prepare financial statements, and more. Leadership, ethics, technological change, and a global perspective are woven into the curriculum by UC’s award-winning faculty.

BUL 302 – Law of Business Organizations (3)

Students must select one of the following concentrations:

CPA Concentration (12 Credit Hours)
ACC 403 – Accounting for Multinational Business (3)
Business Elective (9) – ACC, ECN, FIN, MGT, MKT, RMI courses at the 300-level or higher. At least one must be an ACC course and one must be an ECN course.

Private Accounting Concentration (12 Credit Hours)
FIN 343 – Money and Banking (3)
Business Elective (9) – ACC, ECN, FIN, MGT, MKT, RMI, courses at the 300-level or higher.

The student must complete sufficient elective courses to earn at least the minimum credit hours required for this degree, and at least 60 credit hours of the 120 required must be in the liberal arts and sciences.
